Rules of Hiring People for Conquest

This document is only a guidance originated from the signed contract (including annexes) with EC. It mentions only a few topics from them, which we consider as the most important. However, it is quite essential for every contractor to read trough (at least) the contract and the Annex III, where specific conditions for Conquest are stated.

VACANCIES

1. Every vacancy for Conquest has to be published on the web. This will be done on two sites, firstly on www.quniverse.sk/conquest and then on http://improving.cordis.lu/rtn/. Therefore, a description of the vacancy with all the information specified in THIS WEBPAGE shall be send to us at least one month prior the deadline.

2. No more than 30% of person-months can be spend on researchers from third countries

3. It is a mobility network, so no domestic researchers can be paid out of it No researcher can be involved in HR and mobility activities of EC for more than 48 months all together

4. Try hard to engage as many women as possible (at least 40%)

AGREEMENT

1. Every researcher has to have an agreement signed with the contractor. Please, send us the agreement draft at least two weeks in advance (preferable even earlier, with the vacancy data) for comments.

2. A Personal Carrer Development Plan has to be established for every researcher, which will work for consortium for 6 months or more.

3. ONLY FULL TIME agreements are accepted by EC in general, the only possible exception is a part-time job because of family duties.

4. All rights (especially on social and health security, as well as payment rules) of the researcher has to be a part of the contract.

5. Each researcher has to fill questionnaires at the end of his stay and two years after; he has also to supply the contractor at least for three years after the end of the agreement with his contact data. We suggest to make these obligation a part of the agreement.

6. The copy of the contract with EC, as well as Personal Career Development Plan (when applicable) shall be a part of the agreement

Last, but not least, we need no later than 10 days after the signature of the agreement to receive a signed declaration, that an agreement conform with the contract was signed; this will be handed directly to the EC. We need also a copy of the agreement itself for administration purposes.

PAYMENT

1. Experienced researchers have to receive an employment contract in general; stipends have to be approved by EC and are not welcome.

2. Monthly living allowance, mobility cost, as well as the travel allowance and career exploratory allowance have to be part of the contract and have to be paid according to the article III.8 of the contract, to the maximal amount specified in the A-form of the respective year and partner. Do not forget on the correction coefficients, applied on the first two items!

3. Travels to third countries shall not be in general paid from the Conquest money.
