When I went to the US for grad school, I was paid for the first time in my life, and I quickly bought a Canon 300D. Since September 2003, I haven't stopped carrying around a camera of some sort. My initial goals were to learn to use it, to use it well and to make my friends happy with my photographs.
Nowadays, I do street photography, nature macros, candid portraits, an occasional friends' wedding... still looking for a focus, overjoyed from looking at the world.
However, I strive to make photos that I (and others) would want to look at again and again.
My ongoing goal is to make three good photos every month.
Looking at great photos is simply a pleasure. I have thoroughly enjoyed the work of Elliot Erwitt, Ernst Haas, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Harry Callahan in the MIT library during my 5 years there and I am very glad I discovered them for myself.
These days I work here, researching quantum information. I weekly post what I see at work and outside of it on my photolog.
